Hello Toast is the smallest useful plugin — the “hello world” of the Veilamp JS plugin API. It subscribes to playback events and pops a short toast with the current track’s title whenever a new song starts.

Use it as a template for your own plugin: it shows the plugin anatomy (plugin.json + an entry script), how to request permissions, and how to call the sandboxed window.veilamp API.

Heads up — plugins run code

Unlike palettes and layouts (which are declarative and “as safe as a theme”), plugins execute JavaScript in a permission-gated sandbox. Only install plugins whose source you trust. This listing shows the permissions a plugin requests so you know what it can touch before you install it.
