veilamp 0.3.4
New
• Scrobbling — Track your listens to ListenBrainz or Last.fm from a new Settings → Scrobbling panel. Sends
“playing now” when a track starts and a durable “listen” once you’ve played enough of it, covering local,
LAN-server, friend, and CD playback. Listens made offline are queued and retried. (Last.fm: sign in once with
your username and password; the password is never stored.)
• Play and rip Audio CDs — A new CD tab detects your drive, reads the disc, and pulls album/track info and cover
art from MusicBrainz. Play tracks straight off the disc or rip selected tracks to FLAC into your library,
tagged and auto-imported.
• Gapless playback for network streams — Consecutive streamed tracks (LAN server, friends, podcasts) now play
back-to-back with no gap, just like local files, on both the normal and bit-perfect output paths.
• Crossfade between tracks — An adjustable 0–12 second crossfade for consecutive local tracks. Off by default.
• Repeat mode — A transport toggle cycling off → repeat all → repeat one, remembered across restarts (keyboard
shortcut R).
• Resizable windows — The Modern and Neonwave layouts can now be freely resized, reflowing to fill the space,
with the size remembered per layout.
• Smarter metadata enrichment — Identify tracks by how they sound (acoustic fingerprinting) when tags are wrong
or missing, plus an Album mode that reconciles a whole album to one release. Run enrichment on just a selection
(an album, artist, playlist, Liked songs, or the current filtered list) instead of the whole library.
• Re-scan a server’s library from the client — A Re-scan button in the Server view tells a connected server to
pick up newly added files without a restart.
• Plugins — Load third-party JavaScript plugins that run sandboxed and can add their own tab or visualizer,
managed from a new Plugins tab with per-plugin permissions.
• Skin packages — Ship skins as a folder or .zip bundling fonts, images, and icons alongside the theme,
optionally including a custom layout.
• OpenDyslexic font option — A dyslexia-friendly UI font, bundled for offline use.
• More install options — An rpm for the headless server, and AUR packages (veilamp-bin, veilamp-server-bin) for
Arch.
Fixed
• In-track seek now works on network streams — Scrubbing within a streamed track now works. Server (HTTP) tracks
seek instantly; friend/Veilid streams seek too, fetching from the seek point first so a forward jump is
responsive.
• No more silent conflict with another Veilid app — If another Veilid app already holds the default network port,
veilamp now binds the next free port instead of quietly fighting for it.
